This project comprised the fabrication of three custom elements for a luxury residence in New Delhi: a mirror-finish Betacryl main staircase balustrade, an exterior entrance door in okume wood with brass inlay, and an interior entrance door featuring a lotus flower inlay.<\/span><\/p>\n Mirror-finish Betacryl was selected for the balustrade for its ability to multiply light and reflections within the space, amplifying the perception of the double-height volume, with panels shaped into inclined geometric lines that follow the line of the staircase ramp. As a reflective solid surface balustrade element, Betacryl allows the structure to read as a continuous, luminous form rather than a solid barrier. The entrance doors, exterior and interior, are crafted in okume wood, a material selected for its quality and workability with inlays in brushed and polished brass: asymmetric intersecting geometric panels on the exterior, and a large central lotus flower decoration in purple-plum-fuchsia tones on a gilded frame on the interior.<\/span><\/p>\n The mirrored balustrade was produced with inclined geometric panelling and a fully reflective outer surface, its curvature shaped precisely to follow the ramp of the staircase. The monumental okume doors feature intersecting panel geometries with brushed brass inlays, framed by gilded surrounds that highlight the central decorative motifs.<\/span><\/p>\n This international commission involved fabricating Betacryl and door components in the workshop, followed by shipping and on-site installation. Achieving the balustrade\u2019s reflective surface and precise curvature required careful management of form and seamless joints. The okume doors with brass inlay were crafted in-house, with decorative finishing coordinated by third-party specialists.
