Betacryl Balustrade with Mirror Finish in New Delhi

This project involved the creation of a Betacryl balustrade with a mirror finish for a grand staircase in New Delhi. The inclined form follows the flight of the stairs and defines its striking, scenographic character.

The mirror-finished Betacryl clads both the ramp and the front with a continuous reflective surface: this Solid Surface, thermoformable and workable without visible joints, follows the incline of the staircase as a single material ribbon.

The project is completed by monumental doors in Okoume and brass: large timber leaves with metal details, coordinated with the language of the staircase for an entrance of powerful impact.

Shaping, polishing and finishing of the Betacryl balustrade were carried out in the GP Design workshop in Vicenza, Italy, followed by shipping and on-site installation in New Delhi: bespoke Solid Surface fabrication, delivered as far as India.
