This project involved the creation of a bespoke spiral staircase with laminated oak treads and a Krion Snow White balustrade for a private residence in Paris. The compact helical structure connects the floors within a minimal footprint.
The laminated oak of the treads combines dimensional stability with material warmth; the Krion Snow White balustrade wraps around the ascent in a continuous curve with no visible joints, made possible by the thermoforming of the material.
The modular central column in Krion supports the spiral staircase and defines its helical geometry: every element was shaped to design and assembled on site with invisible joints.
Thermoforming, shaping and finishing were carried out in the GP Design workshop in Vicenza, Italy, followed by delivery and on-site installation in Paris: a made-to-measure staircase that shows the international reach of the workshop.
GP Design is a specialist craft workshop focused on Solid Surface fabrication, based in Vicenza, Italy. It produces custom surfaces for residential and commercial environments, working on private commissions and architectural projects.
